Charlotte Figi, a Colorado girl who publicly treated epilepsy with medical cannabis, leading to the widespread acceptance of medical cannabis and CBD, sadly passed away this week after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.
Charlotte truly changed the world by shedding light on the potential of cannabis for quality of life. Through her and her family’s willingness to be advocates for cannabis reform and accessibility, many now have access to CBD. Our industry owes a great deal of gratitude to Charlotte for her bravery and the impact she made on the hearts and minds of many.

The Figi family then began to work with the Stanley brothers, six Colorado-based siblings who grew cannabis and who were working on a high-CBD, low-THC strain. Extracts from those crops were used to treat Charlotte and other seizure patients. The Stanley brothers named the strain Charlotte’s Web to honor the girl who inspired it.
The Stanley brothers also established a non-profit organization, the Realm of Caring Foundation, which donates cannabis to both adults and children suffering from a variety of diseases and ailments. Realm of Caring collaborates with universities to produce cutting edge research, provide educational services, community support, and resources. Give to Realm of Caring today.
“We improve lives through Research, Education, and building Community. By funding and conducting Research, we learn more about cannabis and its effects while legitimizing the therapy. Education empowers consumers to select the best products for their individual needs and informs healthcare professionals about options for their patients. Through Community, we spread the truth about cannabis and expand access to those in need.
Realm of Caring Foundation empowers you to take control of your health and enhance your quality of life by providing cannabinoid research initiatives in addition to educational programs and services.”
